Philippians 1:6 says, "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."

This is an incredible promise from our Living God.  Yet, oftentimes we take it for granted and don't really believe it to be the magnificent promise that it is.  People have said that with an iceberg only 10% is visible and it's the 90% under the water that you need to be worried about.  I think the promise of this verse is similar.  Far too often we find ourselves in prayer to the Lord that He would do something, perform some miracle or work in some way - only giving thought to the 10% that we see.  Then we are shocked, and sometimes angry, when He not only begins a good work in the 10% - but he also completes that work through the 90%!  Are you reading this thinking, "Where on earth is this going, and what does it have to do with Texas and humidity?"....I'm getting there, I promise!!

One Voice just got back from Tyler, Texas.  Those of you familiar with the trip or the area know that to say it was humid is putting it very lightly.  All of us on the team had been preparing to some degree or another for the past few months for this trip.  Thursday was long and stressful, but we finally reached the home where we were staying for the weekend at about 2 in the morning.  We were tired, nervous, frustrated, excited, and very very sticky.  It was humid.  But the humidity was only a small part of the 10% we had been praying about.  Of course we prayed for God to be in the midst of the worship-and He was!  Of course we prayed for Him to be the words in our messages-and He was!  Of course we prayed for safety-and we were safe!  But even bigger than that He showed up and became real for 80-100 youth, He added names to the Lamb's Book of Life(!!!!), He touched the hearts of the church family hosting the event for these youth, He opened the floodgates of His provision and blessing upon One Voice in a way that we hadn't dreamed of, and He began working out heart issues in our ministry.

We had a great trip to Tyler, Texas last week!!  Had you asked us before we went if we wanted God to use the trip to open our eyes to our heart issues in this ministry, we would probably have given you a half hearted "well, sure"....but come on, how often do you love to just dive into those issues with God about yourself?  He is faithful though and showed up in Tyler to worship with His children and teach us about where He wants us to go, what He wants us to do and how He wants us to do it.  He showed up to show the wives in this ministry that we don't know everything ;D and to show the husbands a new way to lead.  He showed up to point us to strengths He wants us to cultivate and weaknesses He wants to work in through us.  He showed up to finish that good work that He started in us and break into some of that 90% lurking below our surface.  Oh, yeah, and He showed up for the youth conference too!

So for those of you looking forward to what God has for you, get ready for Him to go way deeper than you plan!  Because God is about working on 100% of you!!  Can I get an "Amen!"?
